Two accounts, not one

Samsung phones carry a Samsung account alongside the Google account, and both need removing before the reset. Leaving the Samsung account attached can keep Find My Mobile active, which behaves like a second reset lock.

Settings › Accounts and backup › Manage accounts › remove the Samsung account.
Remove the Google account the same way.

AMOLED burn-in is a real deduction
